This post is a little late since I uploaded my new website a week or two ago, but I still thought I should post something.

My old theme was a little un-business like for me and needed a professional look, tada. Unfortunately I was so excited to get it online that I didn’t exactly finish it. My portfolio does not yet show the full view, and my comment system is run by Facebook. I assure that this weekend (July 9th) I will have everything complete. My internet has been down for a 5 days and finally got it back yesterday. It’s horribly sluggish and will be until the cable that is strewn across our alley is replaced and buried. Yippee.

Anyway, just thought I’d followup and let any of my readers, if any, what was going on. (: I will have a blog post about my summer soon too! It’s been amazing!

Well.. It’s the end of high school forever. This has to be one of the most depressing times of my life. I know that even though I say I won’t miss it, I will probably miss the tiny little things. I guess I’ll take this time to look back on everything I’ve done and overcame.
The big turning point for me was joining BPA. I would absolutely not be where I am without it, especially without Ms. Laroux, my advisor. I was that awkward kid in class that never talked. BPA got me involved and forced me to converse with so many other people. My first year in the organization was a bust I guess. I mean, we went to regionals for a day then left. The next year I advanced all the way to Nationals. I completely burst out of my shell by then, (you really can’t shut me up now) and had the time of my life. This year I made it to Nationals AGAIN but this time not just in web site design team, but my individual, Fundamentals of Web Design. We were in Washington, D.C. and had a BLAST. We had horrible experiences but that made it even better hahaha. So yeah, you haven’t heard the results! For Web Site Design Team we placed… *drumroll* 2nd in the NATION! For Fundamentals of Web Design I didn’t place but I did make it to the top 8.
I definitely need to give thanks to my Web Mastering and Broadcasting teacher, Mrs. Rayson. She really helped me the past 3 years and definitely became a 2nd mom to me. I really couldn’t express all my thanks in words for all she has done. I was given the honor to be lead webmaster for 2 years, and chosen as her Lighthouse student this year. I can’t believe it’s all over though…

Wow this is sad. *tear*

In my previous post I said that I was practicing for my Final Cut Pro exam and I’m happy to say that I passed and am now certified in Final Cut Pro!! Now I have two certifications under my belt, FCP and HTML. Wooo!

I have orientation for University of North Texas in about 3 weeks and finally have a roommate chosen. He’s a junior but we’re both majoring in Communication Design plus he’s just legit. So that’s about it now… Sorry I haven’t responded to any comments. My soul had been sold to BPA and school. OH YEAH! Graduation is in 11 days. I’m SO STOKED. I plan to blog a couple more times in the upcoming week so look for it please

I haven’t blogged in so long! In the past month that I have been absent quite a lot has happened. First off, GRADUATION IS IN 35 DAYS. I’m so excited. I’ve completed my housing and everything for UNT, and already found a roommate that will be pretty awesome! All I have to do now is try and fax my financial aid forms over again. I hope that the delay of sending them doesn’t mean I miss out on some free moola.

In school, I’ve been doing really well. The 5th six weeks ended and I only had one B and it was pre-cal. In broadcasting we’ve been working on the Senior video. I’m the director and have to compile everyone’s video plus create the intro, credits etc. I’ve been going with a Tron theme because well.. It’s just epic and amazing. With this going on I’ve also been studying for my Final Cut Pro certification exam, which if I pass I don’t even know what I’ll do with myself. haha.

I’m not sure what to write about at this point if I think of anything else I’ll blog more so here is the best news I have! On Friday I took a certification exam for HTML and passed it “with excellence”! So I am now W3 HTML Certified!

Oh, Spring Break.

I’ve actually enjoyed myself this spring break. Monday, I went to the DPS and waited for 2 hours for them to schedule a road test that wouldn’t take place 2 hours later. So I came back and took the test and I am now a licensed driver! It’s about time! I did get 10 points deducted from the test XD I’m a good driver, I promise.
Tuesday I went and got my Meningitis shot so now I can apply for housing at UNT. The halls are filling up quick hopefully by the time I finish the application the hall I want won’t be full. :\ It’s 400 dollars for the deposit and pre-payment, so yeah..
Let’s see… That’s pretty much it, I’ve just been chillaxin’ and watching movies (Tron: Legacy, the blu-ray version got leaked out and Unstoppable, I’ve just been watching movies movies movies). I have been working on the BPA site improvements though. I may post the url to the website later depending on whether or not I can.

Last week, May 2nd – 5th, I attended the Texas Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference in Ft. Worth. It was super fun! We got there on the 2nd and had to wait 5 hours for our rooms to finally be ready. I recommend to never stay at the Sheraton. Apparently this happens all the time. For the inconvenience they did give us free pizza, breakfast vouchers at their over priced restaurant, and one free movie. So we got a movie still in theatres since it’s so expensive Thursday I had my first competition in Fundamentals of Web Design. There were so many people in there I was freakin’ out but it was all good. On Friday we had our Prelims for Web Site Design Team. Our presentation was definitely one of our worst and I was iffy on whether or not we would make it to Finals. One of our judges just didn’t care at all about what was happening. Later that afternoon we went to check if they posted finals.. “Finals will not be posted until after 9 P.M.” Seriously, like What the F? We also had the special event that night which was casino night. We left for that at around 8:30 and on our way we checked the results and HUZZAH we made it to finals So we did the casino night junk and went back to our room to watch our movie. Hilarious movie btw. Saturday, we didn’t have to compete until 10 and we met another school that we were competing against, Klein High School, I really liked their site, but they only got 6th. Good for me
Anyway I’ll just end this babbling.. I ended up getting 2nd in Fundamentals of Web Design and we got 2nd in Web Site Design Team. Time to get ready for Nationals in Washington, D.C.!

Hate the new admin bar that was added in WordPress 3.1? It’s easy to turn it off! In your dashboard, click “users” then “your profile” then uncheck the box next to “show admin bar”. Simple as that! lol.

I’m on school overload. The stress of college is really starting to take a toll on me. I’ve been denied a lot of scholarships already, and I’m starting to feel that I’m going to be pulling some huge loans FAFSA isn’t even filled out, my Mom still needs to file taxes. Today is the first day for those who itemize, so let’s get a move on Mom! I’ve also got a lot more to do before any scholarship would be put to use anyway. I still need to get my meningitis shot so that I can even apply for housing at UNT (which is where I’m going, University of North Texas). I need to sign up for orientation and accept attendance too. In ApplyTexas there was a box asking if we would be seeking teacher certification, and I am but I have no idea what it does to my course selection or anything. I hate not having all the answers given to me. Ugh Lazy especially with senioritis creeping up on me. LOLJK I already have it.

Hm. What else is going on. Well I have to definitely get a move on with my BPA State Competition. We have so many things to get done and make in so little time. We need to start practicing our speech too. EFFFFF. My Aquatic Science trip deposit is also due on March 1st and I won’t know if I can until March 5th. Thank god my teacher is awesome. He’ll let me turn the deposit in late if I do go. The bad thing is that, If I place nationals then I won’t be able to go to Galveston. The day that they leave is the day of awards ceremony for nationals, which will be in D.C. I’d much rather be in d.c. since that’s amazing for my resume, it’s a life changing experience (although I did go in the summer with my grandma, we didn’t get to do much) but in Galveston I’d be having fun with all my senior friends, and dissecting sharks, all that good stuff. *sigh* I never get time to actually enjoy friends and school.

I have finished up the PHP Template version of my To the Sky theme. So all I have next is the WordPress theme. I’m having issues with that and Tumblr not accepting the changes I’ve been making to fix it: It currently does not work in Firefox due to a messed up tag.

So the snowpocalypse is continuing. Last week we had 4 days off because of the snow. FOUR! Usually we’ll get one snow day at most every year, mainly because my district never closes for anything. The weather is never like this in Texas. Last year we got 6 inches of snow (the most i’ve ever seen since i moved here 12 years ago) on the first day of spring when it was 80 degrees the day before and that’s it. Motha’ Nature is so bipolar. Last week everything iced over for 3 days then snowed on Friday, which I took advantage of and had snowball fights Anyway, this is the fifth day. Hell must’ve frozen over or something. So goes our days last week to be waived by the texas board of education. It’s worth it.

So what am I doing then? Procrastinating, binging, watching tv.
